School Age Programs
Country Kids offers before and after school care during the school year, as well as an engaging summer program filled with fun activities and daily field trips.
Before and/or After School Program
We provide before school care starting at 6:30 AM and after school care when school is dismissed. We transport to and from a variety of schools in Lenexa and Olathe. The first part of an after-schooler’s day at Country Kids involves going outside for a short period to release some pent up energy and to get some fresh air and exercise. Then we have a snack and plan our afternoon. A variety of choices will be offered which include arts and crafts, animal care center, relaxation center, table top activities, block and Lego center, homework center and dress up/home living center. We will have a full recess and then come back to centers. We also offer care when the public schools are closed for various reasons including snow days and winter and spring breaks.
Summer Program
The summer program involves more planned activities than the school year program. A detailed program schedule is issued before the summer program starts each year. We typically go to the pool three times per week; the library and park once per week each; a field trip once per week; and a fun exercise program once per week. Additionally, we have the same centers available that we have during the school year. We have many planned arts & crafts activities and go outside for recess twice each day. We serve a nutritious lunch as well as morning and afternoon snacks each day. The summer program includes a short, quiet time period each day and follows a planned time schedule. Our goal in this program is for your child to have a fun, safe and enjoyable summer.
